There is no shell to climb into. The camera and lighting face an open backdrop, so a bridal party of eight piles in together, leans in, and everyone makes the cut. The line moves faster because more people fit per photo, and the booth itself reads as part of your decor instead of a porta-potty with a flash.
Both of the booths we run, the Gold Photo Station and the Illumibooth, are open-air by design. We have been setting them up at events across San Diego, Sacramento, and Temecula since 2006, in ballrooms, backyards, breweries, and corporate atriums. They need a footprint roughly the size of a card table plus a backdrop, so they slide into tight venues where an enclosed booth would block a doorway. You get the bigger group shots, the cleaner look, and prints in hand within seconds.

What is the difference between open-air and enclosed booths?
An enclosed booth is a curtained box you step inside, usually two people at a time. Open-air has no shell. The camera and lighting face an open backdrop, so larger groups fit in one shot and the line moves faster. Open-air also photographs cleaner and takes up less room. Both of our booths, the Gold Photo Station and the Illumibooth, are open-air.
How many people fit in one photo?
Comfortably eight, and we have squeezed in ten or twelve for a wedding party that wanted everyone in frame. That is the main reason open-air took over from enclosed booths. Nobody has to wait outside while two friends pose without them.
Can I customize the backdrop?
Yes. We carry sequins in several colors, florals, solid colors, and we print custom step-and-repeats with a logo, monogram, or event hashtag. For corporate clients we run your branding edge to edge so every photo doubles as marketing collateral.
How much space does the booth need?
Plan on roughly a ten-by-ten area: about a card-table footprint for the booth itself plus room for the backdrop and a few guests to gather. We can work in tighter spots too, so if your venue is small, tell us the dimensions and we will make it fit.
Do guests get prints, and do you serve my area?
